A Community Research Management System

Kilauea, the planets' largest single point source of Sulphur Dioxide and VOG (volcanic smog) looms large above the big island of Hawai'i.  What are the long term effects of this powerful volcano on the children that live here?

The Big Island community and the University of Hawai'i, along with USC and the Harvard Medical School, have launched an ambitious effort to find out, all the while empowering and transforming the local island culture.

This study utilizes an elegant web system of services, developed by Kaeo R+D, to manage the research work and data flow in a coordinated collaboration of team members on the Big Island and research staff at the University of Hawai'i - Manoa, USC and Harvard..

  An HR System

The quiet and serene atmosphere at the Diocesan Center, dramatically nestled against the Koolau cliffs, belies the true nature of the Catholic Schools office situated here.

This busy office is the hub of operations for the 56 Catholic Schools in Hawaii.

One of the most important functions performed here is the coordination of Human Resource (HR) issues such as the hiring of teachers, employee certification, and the generation of administrative reports including those mandated by regulatory agencies.

When Kaeo R+D was asked to help build this system, the specification was for a faster system that would allow concurrent access yet be similar enough in “look and feel” to the existing single-user system to minimize user retraining.

So we delivered a system that is deployed over the web, yet uses wizards to guide the user step by step. This is more difficult than it sounds, as it is not easy to retain data and state over the internet, for each intermediate step and each user logged into the system.

But Kaeo R+D delivered the system within a few months and within budget.  We even managed to subtly update the look by anodizing the mandated neutral grey page colors with different hues corresponding to each of the different functional groups.

  A Customer Satisfaction System

The JBL Premium sound system, the VVT-I engine, the Lunar Mist Metallic paint or the smile on the salespersons’ face? What would drive you to purchase a new car and be happy about the total experience?

Servco Automotive ( Toyota , Lexus, Suzuki) wanted to know just that. Servco executives have been working with Market Trends Pacific to find this out for some time.

But now Servco wanted to know more, more rapidly. They also wanted all of the people involved in the sale and service of that new car to be able to get direct feedback from the customer.

So Kaeo R+D worked with Market Trends Pacific in developing a web reporting system for Servco that achieves these objectives.  Real-time collection and web reporting of customer satisfaction data is just one part of the new MarketIQ product offering from Market Trends Pacific..
